This month's book is Electric Arches by Eve L. Ewing. Full of both poetry and prose, this quick read is beautiful, eye-opening, and riveting in many ways. It was chosen in celebration of Women's History Month as it details the power and essence of black womanhood.
This month's book is The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas. This fiction text is so close to nonfiction because of the ways of the world. But, Thomas does a beautiful job weaving a tale that is both familiar and breathtaking, and helps us to see the world from another set of eyes.
This month's book is Year of Yes by Shonda Rhimes. It's been out for a little while now, but as 2018 is fresh upon us, I thought it would be befitting to start it off with something that will inspire us to push outside of our comfort zones and, as Shonda says, say yes to everything that scares us.
What are you saying yes to this year?
